The singer and husband Jay-Z – whose real name is Shawn Carter – welcomed their first child into the world last month and the ‘Crazy In Love’ hitmaker’s mother Tina Knowles is loving being a grandmother to little Blue Ivy Carter.

Tina said: “She’s doing great. She’s beautiful.

“[Being a grandma is] amazing. It’s the second best job I’ve ever had.”

While Tina is smitten with the baby, she is unsure just yet as to which of her famous parents the tot resembles.

We’re wishing a speedy recovery to Merle Haggard, who was hospitalized in Macon, Ga., Tuesday night . According to Nashville’s WSMV-TV, the 74-year-old country icon fell ill prior to a scheduled performance and was rushed to a local hospital.

Merle’s tour manager, Frank Mull, confirms to the Ledger-Enquirer that the singer had been sick since leaving his California home last week. However, details regarding the illness have not been disclosed. His scheduled show tonight in Columbus has been canceled.
